Joint Research and Development of UAV, Drone for Power Plant Boiler Inspection

03.12.19. Tokyo. A.L.I. Technologies (Abbr. A.L.I., Main office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Presidents: Shuhei Komatsu, Daisuke Katano) will begin a joint research and development project with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (Main office: Yokohama city, Kanagawa pref.) to develop an autonomous flight drone for power plant boiler inspection.

This system performs inspection with an autonomous flight drone under non-GNSS (* 1), which enables smooth inspection operations in large indoor facilities such as power plant boilers. Tests have already been conducted in virtual facilities, and in future, we will proceed with full development by utilizing our IoT operation technology.

(*1) GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a generic term for satellite positioning systems such as GPS. Non-GNSS does not acquire location information from such systems.
